SalahSync (“we”, “us”) helps you focus during prayer times by calculating prayer windows and (optionally) shielding selected apps using Apple Screen Time APIs. This Privacy Policy explains what data is used, stored, and shared when you use the app.

Data We Use

• What: Your approximate location (via “When In Use” permission) and/or derived city/country.
• Why: To calculate accurate prayer times and build prayer windows.
• Where it’s processed: Location can be processed on-device to determine city/country and compute times.
• When it’s shared: If you enable Online Prayer Times, the app sends city and country (not your GPS coordinates) to the prayer times provider to fetch timings.

Online Prayer Times (optional)

• What is sent: City, country, date, and calculation parameters.
• Provider: AlAdhan API (api.aladhan.com).
• Why: To fetch daily prayer timings.
• Note: Like any web request, the provider may receive standard network metadata (e.g., IP address) when your device connects.

Screen Time / App Shielding (optional)

• What: Your Screen Time authorization status and your selected apps/categories to shield (using Apple FamilyControls / ManagedSettings).
• Why: To block the apps/categories you choose during prayer windows.
• Storage: Your selection is stored locally on your device so it persists between launches.
• Sharing: We do not transmit your app selection to our servers.

Notifications (optional)

• What: If enabled, SalahSync schedules local notifications (e.g., “Apps will lock in 20 minutes…”).
